Schafberg am Wolfgangsee

The Schafberg on Lake Wolfgang for Father's Day

Those who desire a more expansive view will likely be very well served by the Schafberg mountain at Lake Wolfgang. There are three different routes to the summit.

With the train up and down
Up on foot and down by train
Or, as we always do, up and down on foot.

As a reward, a beer or a hearty snack awaits you at the "Gate of Heaven." However, you'll need to bring good physical condition, as the hike from the lake (Fürberg) to the summit cross takes approximately 3 hours. But after about 15 km and a good 1200 meters of elevation gain, you'll reach Lake Wolfgang again and can take a refreshing dip as a reward.,
